PERSONAL COACHING

By its very nature, Personal Coaching assumes the client is a whole, creative, intelligent individual and has all the answers inside of themselves. It is the Coach’s job to partner with the client in a creative process to draw out those answers through powerful listening and questions.

Coaching involves a relationship built on trust and mutual respect. It is an alliance that is designed by you and your coach for the purpose of helping you realize your full potential. Coaching helps you identify goals and, at its best, is a very collaborative journey to achieving those goals.

A coaching relationship involves structured conversations, or coaching sessions, that include:

  • Being listened to actively and deeply

  • Being asked powerful question to prompt new insights

  • Generating options and expanding possibilities for decision making

  • Identifying and avoiding obstacles to your progress

  • Focusing on forward progress and being action-oriented

In our coaching sessions, you will be encouraged to look at your situations from a different perspective and to be willing to move forward differently as you gain new insights. Your coach’s objective will be to help you get to the point of having confidence and commitment to a line of action you have identified for yourself.

What does a Personal Coaching session look like?

  • Explore

As we begin working together during your coaching sessions, you will be able to express your desired topic and outcome for the session. Together we will spend time exploring all the opportunities, options, and possibilities as they relate to your topic and your goals, as well as your desired outcome.

  • Identify a Focus

After exploring and creating options, we will come to a point in the conversation where a clear focus and/or intention becomes clear. This is referred to as a "light bulb moment.” This is a moment where you will be able to identify what you need to do in order to move forward.

  • Design Actions

After identifying a focus, the conversation takes a turn toward creating an action plan. In this phase, I will partner with you by asking questions that help you identify what the best course of action is. Ultimately, you are the one determining the actions you want to implement.

  • Accountability

Once you have set your plan of action, the last step we take in our session is to establish some form of accountability. Accountability (whether that be a person(s) or system) is an important part of the process and provides the support needed to makes continued strides towards your goals.
